During the course of the movie, Cobb, the protagonist of the film, searches to make amends with previous actions he had committed by using the idea of inception in the dream-state of one's mind. This design seeks to visually portray the mystery of the mind and how even a dangerous or harmful idea can grow for the better, often by breaking through mental barriers, leading to beneficial and healthier results.
The poster was created to reflect some of the conceptual components of the movie within the design.
